I got a built in alarm clock, majority of the time i wake up before my clock radio goes off, but I have a nasty habit of turing it off, roll over and go back to sleep.

Alarm clocks?? No harm in using them..the only time I ever have hated an alarm clock is when it does not go off because the volume may be too low for me to hear it go off. Sometimes when I have to get up for work, I sleep past it, and I get all panicked...!!

I don't mind the snooze buttons..I don't have one myself I only have my mobile phone as my alarm clock so I get woken up by the music I have in there.
My dad however does have an alarm clock with a snooze button but he never turns the alarm off when it buzzes. He has the clock right next to his ear and he doesn't wake from it at all and funny enough, the whole house can hear it waking us up in the early hours. It's either me or my mum who turns it off to snooze because my dad's dead as a doornail when it comes to sleeping. Scream in his ear and he won't get up, I mean the alarm clock hasn't!

my body clock is very good that way!
I'll have an cast iron frypan ready and when your body clock goes off, I'll make sure to hit the snooze button for you.

You'd need pretty big arms to swing the frying pan past your beergut though :D
Don't worry, either the beergut or that frypan will hit that snooze button on your internal clock. :p

What's the lifespan of your average alarm clocks?
Between the wonderful moods I used to consistently wake up in, my fists and propensity to throw...
Recognizing the effects of fatigue on my stutter and mental state I've made the effort to get to bed earlier at night and now I wake before / without my alarm most days anyway.

Mine has been with me for over 13 yrs, if the yelling in the ear doesn't get me, an good shove off the bed usually works.:D

Must be a helluva thump when your beergut hits the floor - that'll wake the whole street up :D
I live in the sticks.
So, I ask you, if there is no one in the woods and a tree fell, would it make a noise?

I have the best alarm clock which 99% of the time wakes us up at 6.45. On occassions it hasnt gone off until about 7.30 but whatever time hewakes us up he doesnt stop until we go downstairs and play with his cars or watch herbie which is his favourite at the moment.

Well, make the most of it just now because in 10 years time, he won't want to get out of bed!
My girls are night owls and they have picked up from mommy, push daddy off the bed, so we can sleep with mommy when we get scared.

1 serious note here...
Fatigue is one of those dynamics which will contribute to a bad stuttering day. I wake up early every morning to work on my speech, I’ve stopped using the snooze button and most evenings I go to bed earlier than I have in decades.

The only time I remember getting up extra early, was when i was young and I was in training to be a boxer, was to go running. Other than that, I love my sleep over waking up early to work on my stutter, so I can be prepared for the day. I would start worrying on my way into town and after the day, an hour alone to reflect what happen during the day.

Ah, so that's what gave you those Klingon frown marks on your forehead!
Worrying tends to do that to you. ;)
