guys my one friend who joined the site over a year ago has been having very severe vocal tics to the point where he grunts and the one night it was so severe he couldn't say anything. Do you guys have any advice i could give him to help him overcome the grunting spell hes been facing for a year now?

That's pretty touchy for me. I have vocal tics, where I do not have grunts but I have jaw spasms when I stutter. It's absolutley horrible and frightening. It makes me even more unnerved when I have these facial/vocal tics and when I have them, someone asks "Are you yawning"?
That is so humilitaing, and angering....

I too stutter on every word, as Ari and Standingtall have witnessed this when we spoke on the phone. I am still willing to talk to anyone willing.

I highly recommended talk to this fine lady. I really enjoy the conversation we had, and the wife enjoyed talking to you too.

Hi! I'm sorry for having been out of the forums for a long time... I've been very busy, but I hope to come back soon.
Regarding this thread, I'd like to add that I'm totally unable to say "Steve McQueen" when I'm not alone. I don't know the reason, but it puzzles me that I always have a terrible block with this name.

Mine was woman.
Like a few others here, I always have trouble with words beginning with 'M'. Its unfortunate because both my mother and girlfriend have names beginning with 'M'.

I do not know what words I get stuck on! It's unpredictable. Words that I can say one minute, will not come out the next minute!!

I really don't remember.......but I do have problems with multisyllable words that have repitions IN them. Such as "identity" , "necessary" , "disappointment" etc.
"Mother" was always full of tension and emotion for me, even after she died. One day, I decided to forgive her for those times she was unfair, wrong, too tired or not there for me. Now, "Mother" feels like a smile, a pleasant memory.
