I noticed, during a trip to the dentist, that if I imagined being far, far out among the stars, that the pain was drastically reduced.
I wondered if this technique could be applied to stuttering...
Sure enough, take your mind far, far away, and the words fall out by themselves.
This is like an Aikido technique: it is called "the unbendable arm".
Imagine your arm is an infinitely long straight line, and like magic, you find that nobody is able to bend it.
This can be done with the mind! Journey out - way out - and become detached to your immediate surroundings - and you will find that detachment allows you to speak far more fluently.
Lower your voice a little. Breathe calmly. Wear a wistful smile :)
Stop trying to control your every sound, and your body will surprise you! It knows how to talk!
Practice this whenever you can.
Calm...
Calmer...
Very, very calm...
