What would the world be like if we all stuttered!!!

At my job, I have much time to think of the forum, and topics, and in general, how stuttering can be made eaiser to deal with!!! Then I thought of this!!!!

If we all stuttered what would the world be like??? It says on the main page, over 3 million Americans stutter!! That sounds like a whole lot to me!!! But near my area , or town, I know no one who stutters..well a few people..but certainly not even close to 50 people that I know stutter!!!

I would like to see more of this so called "3 million" people that stutter to know there realy are MANY who stutter and that we are not alone!!!!!!

I certainly feel alone in this because, in my town, and where I live, I feel like I am the only one who stutters. Feeling like the only one who stutterers(when not on the forum of course!!) makes me feel like I am an outsider, or in a seperate category where I don't fit in!!!

Now if everyone in the world stuttered, we would not feel it would be unfair because we in the forum seem to be the only ones who stutter!!

With everyone stuttering, we would feel in the norm, and we probably would not feel "this is unair crap" because everyone else is doing it....

A world of people being unable to speak properly because of stuttering would certainly be strange....!!!!

First of all, there would be a new type of people: The PWDS (Person Who Doesn't Stutter). They would be a minory, they would create a forum for sharing their experiences, etc... :)

Now, talking seriously, I believe I would enjoy a world in which every person stuttered, but stuttered in a different way (you know, some people block, other repeat, others stretch, and everybody does it in a different way, there're no persons who stutter the same). I think it would be easier to feel everybody like being brothers.

And, now that I say this, I realize that I'd like to fall in love with a woman who stutters. It would be nice to share our stuttering experiences. Anyway, to date, I always fell in love with nonstuttering ladies.

hmm this sounds familier. :D

For a couple of years in school, I went to school with Twins boys who stuttered and I formed an bond with one of them. I don't know if it is the roll of the dice, but I have met a lot of people that stutter. Maybe I am just lucky. I meet mostly men, and a few women. It makes me think twice about this ratio between, PWDS to PWS.

My sentiments exactly!

I always felt this way and originally incorrectly judged it to be an avoidance behavior when I started working on identifying as many as I could but I later realized that this was not an avoidance behavior and that it would be really nice to be with someone who is really capable of understanding me.
This feeling for me has been strengthened recently as just meeting PWS has been a cathartic experience, I finally fit in somewhere.

The phone companies would make a lot more money from the longer phone calls!

Very clever, everything would take longer to get done as well.

I like to think that my stutter makes me special. At the same time i think it holds me back a bit.

Anyway, a stuttering world would be like the world is now, the only real difference being that books would contain repaeated words

Correct me if i'm wrong, but won't we be normal and the people that don't stutter be special.

Well, I've read that DAF can make normal people stutter. They could use DAF, then :D
