ok do u think sometimes stutterin can take over ur life totally for me it kinda has be like im scared to call one of my friends just cuz of the stuttering and i usually talk to them online. But it has made me pretty shy and people used to call me shy and i said i wasnt which i really am not.And i told me speach therapy teacher that im not and that id be really open to people and go out more and talk on the phone more and stuff like that. Then says its like god is keeping u from something that if u didnt stutter ud be like really open with people and that might be bad. But i mean really id literally do ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING to stop stuttering and just being able to talk normally, but it think my stuttering deals with when i was four i was in yugoslavia then the war started then moved to germany lived there for 8 years then came here now staying here and lived here 6 years. So i think its part of the 3 language thing. Tell me what you all think :)

You seem to have an interesting life. Speaking 3 languages and going to 3 countries. i've never been out of the states!!! Its good that you have friends having friends is a very good thing. Read this book by this guy...read chapter nine. It helped me and maybe it'll help you

i think we all wonder how much better our life would have been if only "the playing field was level" or we were "normal". i also thought of the idea that if i didn't have the "speech impediment" which is what i c all it, then i would be able to share all my great ideas and philisophies about any and everything in life; but then again, no one would probably really get it and i would probably alienate more people than do any good. that said, i would still be having a better life. we can all say that we would have:
1. talked more in class to everyone else.
2. asked more questions and participated in discussions and as a result get much better grades.
3. have more gfs although "IT" never stopped me from trying.
4. have the best job because we'd be more articulate and sound more confident and knowledgeable in job interviews than hesitant.
5. just pick up the phone and call people.
6. actually order what we want at restaurants instead of what's easiest to say so as to not embarrass yourself.
7. argue back with someone when you know you're right and can put them in their place but you didn't.
8. assume more leadership roles because the speaking responsibilities would be a non issue.
i could go on and on...

>"But i mean really id literally do ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING to stop stuttering and just being able to talk normally"<
Stop. Just stop.
Wanting anything that much is a guarantee you will never get it.
Let it go. Accept that you have this problem. Learn to live with it and not be angry at it. Learn to smile and live your life. When you can do these things, your stutter will fade slowly.
It is not easy to do this. But the less wrapped up in it you can become, the easier it will be.
When you finally realise that you do not HAVE to speak like everyone else, then you will be able to.
It may take years, or it may not. But it WILL happen.
You are perfect the way you are, and will become even more so as you learn to accept yourself as you are.
