Hey everyone! My name is Rian, I'm 21 years old, a cop in the Air Force, and a stutterer. I've been stuttering since I was about 10 years old. I believe it is linked to me moving away from one part of the country to another since it first appeared shortly after the move. Anyway even though I do hate my stutter and am embarrassed of it at times, I think I am now just recently starting to accept that it is simply a part of who I am and have just started to be more vocal about it with my friends. Before I used to be too embarrassed to talk about it but now I don't care and neither do my friends care if I stutter or not. Anyway, I just joined to talk to some people who also stutter, see you all around!

welcome rian, your the first cop i know that has a stutter, welcome to the forum hope you enjoy it, and maybe even learn a few things to help with that little problem.

You have a good approach, the hardest thing to do is being open about it as many people don't know the efforts we have to go through at times. acceptance of who you are is a beautiful thing.

my advice would be at times when you are having a tough day (and we all have them) is to come on here let out all that emotion and talk to people who understand your feelings.

be lucky, stay magic....

Hey Rian,

Good to have you hear, so now that we got an MP on the forum, does that mean we have some order now :D .

See you out on the forum and give us a chance to get to know you.

Hi Rian. I was in the army a loooong time ago and it was funny (and a relief) that I never stuttered when responding to officers or NCOs.
