good music.. lol

right now im not so impressed with whats popular. im not into emo or hardcore or screamo screamcore emocoreBLAH! i dont even know whats going on with all these weird labels on all this music that sounds all the same (to me)... but meh, obviously somebody likes it haha.

im a fan of 60's 70's rock, duran duran, grunge/early nineties alternative rock, and world music. dnb is good, as well as techno or trance. i certainly dont mind classical either.
my favourite artists are deftones, tori amos, sevara narzakhan, beck, the doors, led zeppelin, godsmack... and so on... i like alot of stuff.

My speech theripist (sp?) asked me what music i listen too also...so i dont know if music has something to do with stuttering or not. I enjoy alot of rock such bands as my all time favorite Nirvana, i also enjoy disturbed, godsmack, silverchair, three doors down, green day, metallica (the old metallica), the union underground, korn, and many others...

I mostly listen to Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Mest, Three Days Grace and Muse. I absolutely looove Simple Plan, I've been to their concert here in Holland, which was like a month and 2 weeks ago. It was so cool, I had the best time of my life :D And I've been listening to Muse a lot lately, they make really good music.. It's something I've never heard before.

Lately ive been listening to alot of punk rock/screamo, and heavy metal. Ive really been getting into Thrice this last little while, i saw them last week with Underoath, The Bled and Veda, it rocked. I preordered their new album Vheissu, and it comes out tuesday so im stoked for that, but anyway, im pretty much into anything, so you name it i probably like it. But who knows, theres alot that i havent heard of out there, im always up for reccomendations on good music.

I really enjoy singing, because I don't stutter, only getting started. Country, old rock and roll, 80's stuff along with heavy music during that time. Kiss, AC/DC, etc. I can't sing any of my aboriginal songs. I don't have the voice or the ear for music, but I sing just for the heck of it.

I like melodic techno, cheesy broadway tunes like gershwin, 90s rock - I dont' like too much of today's alt. rock, it's missing that geeky soul feeling. I like lounge music they play at hip snooty fashion stores. Chemical Brothers came out with The Boxer which sounds like a stuttering basketball. Some hip-hop - I like old skool style. Some classical, bossa nova, oboe and pianos.

I listen to (and play) all things Metal/Rock . . . But I prefer 80s Metal.

I almost had a girlfriend, who was a huge KISS fan and they grew on me. AC/DC, Nazarath, wow that sure brings back memories. I also listen to Leonard Cohen. My father was a big influence so I got into country and Johnny Cash. Singing songs like the Battle of New Orleans in school with one of the school teacher who brough her guiter to school.

I like a little bit of everything, I like to mix it up a bit, just whatever I'm in the mood for, but I have to say I've been more in the mood for oldies as of lately, theirs nothing better than just kicking back with some ice cold beer while listening to some oldies and reminiscing about the good ole days!!!

I absoinlutely adore Leona Lewis.
Anybody here heard her album? I heard it the first time last night and it is Sick!
Mix Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, add a hypnotic producer, Shake it up in Sony BMG and you got= Leona Lewis.
Even Amy Winehouse (who I love) can't compare.

Well, I don't feel quite so weird anymore about my taste in music.

First of all, I love the 80's. So many good anthems and one hit wonders that are a blast to listen to and sing along with.

Along with that, and perhaps something I like more than 80's is actually Jpop/Jrock. The J stands for Japanese of course. Artists like Ayumi Hamasaki, AKB48, Gackt, l'Arc~en~ciel, ave;new and a lot more is what I have pumping out from my car...with the windows done of course.

There's something about the Japanese music that I adore. I don't really care that I don't know what they are saying (although I do look for lyrics and subbed videos from time to time), it's the heart of the music that I look to. ^^

Of course, I don't mind some good ol' Chicago (all eras of them, pre and post Terry Kath or Cetera), Boston, Whitesnake, Styxx...among a lot of other groups stretching to nowadays.

I suppose the only thing that I don't really like listening to is hateful music...which a lot of the times seems to be rap/R&B and perhaps metal (although I love DragonForce).

I'm also a big fan of Ryan Adams, and I also really like Jeff Buckley, RIP. :(

A lot of my friends like Radiohead, but I just haven't gotten into them quite yet for some reason.

I'm also a big fan of Widespread Panic, a band out of Athens, GA. I've seen them about 90 times.

I love dark music too..like Rob Zombie (Lords of Salem, Living Dead Girl, Dragula).
I still dream of being a music producer one day...

wow, don't get me started. i just hit 61 Gb of music a few days ago ;)

i'll list genres, cuz listing artists would take FOREVER.

i like: pretty much all rock (alternative, metal, punk, hardcore, ska, classic, pop), hip-hop (old school and mostly underground, but i sometimes give in to the hype), electronica (dance, trance, d&b, progressive, hardstyle, experimental, house), funk/disco (70's, baby!), classical (i absolutely loved my music appreciation and piano classes), and soft acoustic stuff.

I'm not as much into recreational music as I was, say, 2 years ago. I used to listen to Mindless Self Indulgence (and even Atari Teenage Riot, lol) but aggressive music is not my cup of tea anymore.
My recent find is El Guincho's "Alegranza", I like the repetitiveness of the tunes :)
I mostly listen to recreational music to dance, and I dance to reggae, soca, samba, bhangra, d&b, among other genres.
But normally, when at home, I listen to icaros (make me feel like a lower animal :) also good for grounding), Santo De hymns (very uplifting), Bwiti music, didgeridoos (Inlakesh is nice), depending on what kind of work I'm doing or just to relax. One of my favorites is Anugama.

Music is ing awesome! It is also my escape.

Does anyone else love indie music as much as I do?

Every month they release an "Indie Playlist" on music download sites. It usually contains about 100 tracks of current indie music. It really changed my whole taste for music. Let's just say my prior tastes in music weren't that classy. :o

I doubt discussion of downloading music through non-legal means is allowed here, so if anyone wants more info about it, they can PM me.

I love Depeche Mode, and Chris Isaak is awesome. He is funny as hell in "A Dirty Shame", the John Waters movie.

I tend to get into moods where I listen to one genre exclusively for awhile. Last month I was trying to be goth and I listened to a lot of Skinny Puppy (which is like the best industrial band ever), and also some darkwave stuff. :o I just love it.

I've always been a 'closet' goth myself. Love the music, style and perspective about it. Used to wear black all the time b/c that's where my mind was at. Not negative by any means, very positive.

I'm all about getting into the right moods as well. Depends where my heart lies at any given time.

Skinny Puppy is great. Never got into a lot of their stuff but the few albums I did get into I loved. 'The Process' being my fav. Other bands in the goth/darkwave genre I'm into are..

Android Lust
Fields of the Nephilim
Genitorturers

My Dying Bride

I'm very into what goth represents. People think it's devil worshiping, how wrong are they. It's really about exploring the different sides of life. I don't dress in black but if people knew what music I'm into they wouldn't believe me.

I like being the type of person that can't be put into one single category. Some people can't handle it. :o So yeah, I can go from listening to goth to rock to Madonna if I have to. I'm very open minded hehe.
