Anything you guys would do if you had no stutter? Not necessarily immediately after it went away, but more long term, or if you'd never even had it, what do you think you'd do or would have done with your lives that's different to how you live now?

I would perhaps do...

1. Be a psychologist (I have a psych degree but don't want the constant speaking and interaction, and now because of the stutter and the fact I now have a totally strange and awkward way of thinking and interacting where other people are concerned, it just wouldn't work out)

2. Be a journalist, write articles etc in magazines (I suppose I could do this now, but...it sort of also entails speaking with and interviewing people for the articles, which I would really avoid now)

3. Be a singer or something in that industry...but maybe not. Maybe the stutter is a partial excuse for me not being a good enough singer. lol. I'd just HATE the interviews and stuff if there were any...it'd mortify me to admit to everyone in the country/world that I stuttered...:(

I'm annoyed at myself and the stutter for making me sort of only consider jobs or careers where I don't have to have a lot of human interaction...I want a job like an ONLINE counsellor/psychologist, or I'd love to be a travel agent and book hotels and stuff for people, but only if it was just all online, no phone or in person...*sigh* I constantly limit and restrict myself and it sucks.

Hey grace...don't limit yourself!!!.. I block about 50-70% of the time when im trying real hard not to...I still manage to be pretty well off in a profession where i deal with tons of people every day. I wanted to do computer science or accounting but thats the easy way out!..The key is not caring what people think...much easier said than done...but i got fed up of worrying about what everyone thinks after a while.....
