Hi peeps - I am a 64 male who has been stammering for far too long.
When my daughter was about eight (now thirty-eight! oh my God) she started to develop a bit of a stammer - as I was convinced it was my fault, not hers I decided to do something about it - and have been trying off and on ever since! Her stammer did not really develop into anything serious and now she only hesitates if she is tired or under stress.
My granddaughter is now three and talks/speaks brilliantlly and as I didn't want a repeat scenario I started the quest yet again.
I have been using a device called a VoiceAmp with quite remarkable results. I now have to try and obtain NHS funding (UK) for this aid, and was wondering if anyone belonging to the forum had gone down this route.
Cheers, Ray

Hi Power of three - I'm afraid I can't cl that honour; not ever having been to Scotland - though my Grandfather came from Glasgow!
I saw a Speech Therapist last week, the first time for a long time, from what I remember of my previous encounters I think maybe methods and thinking have changed for the better.
In my original message I said I have been using a VoiceAmp with some success, the therapist was interested in the device and said she wanted to work with me in a tradtional way along with the VoiceAmp, which I found encouraging. I'm ever hopeful!
