Only one in your family who stutters?

Grandma5's introduction made me think of this, and how many people here seem to have other family members who stutter.

Is anybody else the only stutterer in your family (at least as far as you know)?

I don't know anyone im my family who stutters..but I do recall -- some time in my late teens or early 20s, my maternal grandfather, told me that he stuttered until high school-- I don't remember asking him any questions or thinking about it any further though : (

As far as I am aware I am the only person in my family who stutters. I don't actually know if my more distant family members (aunt, uncle etc) actually know if I stutter because I don't talk much around them so they would never get the oppertunity to see me stutter. I have certainly never discussed it with them so unless my mom or something has told them then they probably don't know. I'm guessing they just think i'm very shy/quiet.

I'm not the only one in my family who stutters. My maternal Grandfather had a really bad stutter and I have a cousin who had a moderate stutter.

I guess it's obvious from how I worded the question, but I don't know of anybody else in my family who stutters. I've never been told anybody else does, and I've never heard anybody else stutter.

I dont know. I'm sort of adopted. I wish I did though. Especially when I was younger. Just so I wouldnt feel so alone in all this. In a way I'm glad. I'd hate if my younger brother stuttered. Or my sons!

My granddad did stutter, he is great help when I'm having a bad day. :)

Count me in. I'm the only one in my family, too. In fact, I'm surprised stuttering runs in families!

My uncle stutters worse than me.
