Hey guys,
I was wondering what kind of doctors you all are going to that take medication for stuttering and find it successful? Are you going to a psychiatrist/neuroologist/family doctor, etc? Many thanks!

I just looked one up on the internet on google for my city.
Look for walk-in clinics. Don't go to family doctors/pediatricians , they usually don't prescribe stuff.
Once you find one, tell him/her you want to try medications for your stuttering. At this point, the doctor will start rambling on about how he knows someone who went to speech therapy and how he uses a slower voice. At this point, you just nod your head and say "Yeah I tried that and it didn't work for me." Tell him about how they are testing a drug for stuttering now. Tell him how some stutterers you talked to online have found medications as a helpful treatment to their stutter.
Have some research articles printed out so it looks like you know what you're getting, and your word is backed by evidence.
The doctor WANTS to prescribe you stuff and LOVES when people ask for prescriptions, cuz when he prescribes you drugs he makes more $$$. U just gotta show ur research and its easy.
