O.k. recently have been reading up on NLP tools like 'anchoring a feeling, state'. Not to sure where i stand on NLP but i am a very subjective person so I thought up an experiment idea.

I am going to use my pre stutter moment as my trigger to experiencing Peace and Joy. I have spending half hour each day linking feelings i experience peace to like walking in my garden barefoot, looking at the stars, candlelit bath. And also moments i experience joy like when my favourite football team scores.

I know this may sound crazy to some, especially if they are a very left brained person, but i think this may have an effect on me so i am excited to see and document what results i get.

i am also testing out anchoring in the morning using my alarm clock as the trigger to experience enthusiasm, energy, vitality and joy. I usaually link alarm clock to pain so i think this will take a while to work :(

But i will be persistent doing daily visualisation for at least a month :)

I know i will get many people people dismiss this technique or NLP in general but to be honest i am going to ignore peoples views and experience myself. No offence but having the underlying belief it won't work willscrew me up from the start.

wouldn't mind hearing from anyone who has experienced NLP techniques, as i am very new and could do with some tips??

That is awesome and resembles my own experiences /w NLP.. Remember: The goal isn't to "not stutter"-- it just to BE-- to just FEEL the peace that you ALREADY are..before you do anything... Focus on the solution, not the percieved "problem"

i am having some really good early results, easpecially using the phone as an anchor. I think the key is though is not stop with the visualisations when fluency does improve.

But yea early results are my speech and thoughts patterns seem to flow more comfortably, as im not dreading the feeling of blocking.

Andrew was their any other NLP techniques you found effective?

The ones that I consciously remember being effective were:

---"Parts Party"/and various similar techniques involving "parts"

---visual swish patterns

and-- focusing not on stuttering as the issue/but rather, the underlying issues that defined my imaginary 'comfort zone'--

One NLP method I found that worked wonders was thinking positively first thing in the morning. Maybe anchoring with your alarm clock can be the reminder to think happy thoughts :)
