Kia-ora,
Well my story is more or less the same as everybody elses. Rejection,
embarrassment, ridicule & all of those"under the surface" emotions.I won't bore you with the gory details; suffice to say; at the start of this year(2005), I did an Intensive Fluency Course. at S.T.A.R.T.Auckland. A charitable trust. The course ran for six(6) days; 0900-1630 hrs. From there, onto N.Z.Speakeasy Assoc'; our support group.I was lucky that this year's Conference-A.G.M. weekend was held in Takapuna. Auckland; a very benefical time was had by all.I'm now on the brink of joining Toastmasters. A move I hope I won't regret. All in all, my speech has improved a whopping 75%! I am 55 yrs old & have been at this lark for over 50 yrs; my stutter was diagnosed as:"Moderate to severe"; & I'm a Pakeha! ;)
