If a policeman made fun of your stutter??

What would you do??

We could have a field day on this--

I never had encountered a situation
where such a respectfull person who keeps
the peace would do this...

How about the fact people are to wait for you
to get something out-- and you sit there and struggle, and struggle- it's like you can
see the word in your mind- but its just not
coming out as youd like---

I experience this every day of my life--
And I dont have any friends because i cant talk
right for them to understand --

Girlfriend-- very deep territory there--
I get from my parents "it will just happen"--
I never bought that-not for a second--i know they are saying that to be nice, but I know what they are really thinking...

To get a girlfriend you have to meet girls, and
have to talk to them and get to know them----
go on dates etc....if one cannot speak right or be able to communicate adequaltey like me,
it's just a dream--- and its something you would
love but the stutter holds you away...

i think the worst would be if a cop thinks ur putting on the "stuttering act" when infact ur not.

Had this happen. The cop thought I was drunk or stoned. Only when another cop listened to me and I said I was a stutterer, was I sent on my way. Wanted to take a swing at the first cop but I was smart enough not to.

Cops are far from the worst though. One woman at the local Motor Vehicles Branch (DMV for US members) is such a beech when I go in there. I've faced a few doctors and nurses who need to relearn the caring for people bit of their job.

If it's real bad, document the incident and take it to the agency that governs or oversees the offender's occupation.

One would think doctors and nurses would be compassionate about all problems for people including stuttering-- but then again they are not, and we stutteres get the short end of the stick----

I wonder what would happen if a person made fun of your stuttering, but then after they did, you whipped
out a toastmasters award and showed them---

That would shut em up-----

We may be made fun of, but we may have a
grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on college level work....!!!

The point-- the smartest most dedicated people
in life that stutter or similar disability can be made fun of-- and that person is just cold and heartless..

The stutterer has nothing to be ashamed of---
but its the suspect who suffers---

Inflicting hurt upon others to make themselves feel better---thats just sick, and cold----
