like today i had a severe block but i call myself a stutter but i couldnt even stutter the word i just sat there and was unable to get any type of mumble or stutter these blocks are annoying is this normal?:confused:

Yes, this is normal, this is a type of stuttering when the words seem to be jammed inside and they don't come out.

I face the very same type of stuttering, the voice just doesn't come out. My jaws start to tense, its like going under a muscular stretch attack or something like that. The throat has the word, but the word isn't coming out.

Well anyway, it is a type of stuttering.

it happens to me too sometimes, in fact in happened to me when i was presenting my masters degree thesis

Stutter consists of blocking, stuttering, ticks, all sorts of things, not just repeation stutterin :)

I tend to interpret my blocks as a sort of paralysis, like a man with a withered arm who tries to reach for a cup of water: the thought is there, but the corresponding muscular activity is absent.

thats called stuttering haha.... thats all i used to do is the silent blocks.

I can't stand those, it seems the only to get rid of em is to take a breath because it just doesn't come out. Very annoying aspecially when I'm on the phone and they are waiting for me to answer while I'm with my mouth open and nothing is coming out, it's as though the more you push the worse it is because I'll just stand there with my mouth open and no sound is coming out.
