Does anyone play this game for the Xbox360.
If you play online my gamertag is LoadedNoName001.
I know the name isn't that great, Xbox Live generated it for me :)

Hey I got COD4. Just got to the highest level and trying to decide on "prestige mode".

I like it.
Bought the game for its online gaming. It's fun because you can pilot helicopters, tanks, Humvees and unlock new weapons.
DDR? Dance Dance Revolution you mean? I don't know probably not lol.

Two of my cousins are in the prestige mode right now...I'm still really low...like in lever 42 or something like that. I suck at COD 4...I still love playing it tho

COD4 is an awesome game but the campaign/story mode is too short. A lot of games are like that now, like Army of Two. Pisses me off. Tired of buying a game for $60 and then throwing it in the corner of my room in less than a week. In fact my friends and I usually take turns buying games and trading them 'cause they cost so much freakin money.
And yes ddr is dance dance revolution. Yeah, I'm a guy who likes to dance, got a problem with that? Yeah me too, but it's still fun.

All I know with prestige mode is that you start over, meaning you lose your rank plus weapons. So I'm not sure if its worth it.

If you got friends that own 360's then chances are they will buy the game you want so then you can just trade it. Like a friend of mine bought BioShock while I was considering getting it. So after he completed it I just traded a game for it.
Nothing wrong with DDR man! Looks like fun plus you get a workout at the same time!

Well, I've heard from many people (myself included) that it is really, really good :)
The reasons I think some people are turned off by it are: 1) the single player mode is irrelevant, you really only buy it for the multiplayer and 2) it is a VERY complex and difficult game to master, it is definitely not a game for casual gamers, when you start playing it you die all the time so it's not much fun!
Still, when you do get the hang of it, you suddenly realize it's probably one of the best online tactical team-based shooters! It is the only game out there that provides 64-player maps! That's right, two 32-player teams battling each other on huge maps, with loads of vehicles!

64 players!? Every step I would take people would be shooting at me hahaha.
In Battlefield Bad Company the maximum amount of players is 12 but the maps are small enough that you would always be in contact with the other team.

And Battlefield 3 will feature 80-player maps! Of course, we're talking about huge maps with loads of vehicles, so it doesn't really feel crowded.
Battlefield: Bad Company is probably the best FPS I've ever played! It's so awesome to blow shit up, like whole towns with mortar strikes. The online is insanely fun. Of course, I have a PS3. I'm not a Microshaft fan. :o
Anyone else here have a PS3? I usually play on online when I get bored.

For real? big fps fan here. sounds like mercenaries. I have an xbox360. not that I'm against sony, just the ps3 price hadnt stabilized when I bought the xbox, and its future was questionable. Like at the time, ps3 exclusives were getting canceled left and right, like devil may cry 4. And the ps3 details are kinda sketchy anyway.... like some can play ps2/ps1 games and some cant?? 'cause if I was gonna buy one, I would want one that could play all the old games too, so the library of games would be seemingly endless. and I'm rambling and forgot where I was going with this.......

I heard Mercenaries 2 got horrible reviews. How disappointing. The first one looked really fun, I should rent it for PS2.
I would have liked an Xbox 360, but I had the first Xbox and I never found games I really enjoyed. I mean there were great games but something didn't click with me. I prefered the PS2. So I guess I just went with Sony again out of preference.
I heard so many bad things about the failure rate of 360s that it is scary. If you want to read an article about it, it's here: http://venturebeat.com/2008/09/05/xbox-360-defects-an-inside-history-of-microsofts-video-game-console-woes/. I don't have unlimited amounts of money and I like to buy things that last. Even though Microsoft at least lets you send in your RROD'd 360s, I still am hesitant. But perhaps down the line I'll get one.
Yeah I agree about the million different versions of the PS3 can get confusing. But there's tons of 360 versions as well. What's currently out is the 40 gig and the 80 gig, but I think they might have discontinued the current 80 gig. They released a Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle a couple months ago with the 80 gig.
Only the 80 gig can play PS2 and PS1 games. The 40 gig can only play PS1 games. Soon they are replacing the 40 gig with an 80 gig, but it will only play PS1 games. Confused yet? :D There's tons of great exclusives for the PS3. Here's a list of some of them: http://www.gamespot.com/users/Swift_Boss_A/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25290664. There's not a complete list that I could find, but there's tons coming out eventually.
Don't worry about rambling, cause I'm the master that. :o

I didnt read the link you sent but I know what you mean, I heard one estimate that 1 in 3 get the Red rings. That sounds like an exaggeration but I know its bad. I cant believe microsoft would let that many be broken, especially after its been out for a while (wait a minute... yes I can :D ).. I think I heard a rumor that it might be because the design doesnt let it breathe properly... but thats all politics, so to speak
you were right about choosing the ps2 over the xbox. Im actually still shocked it sold so well. Its literally a pc disguised as a console, like the controller ports are just usb ports in a different shape, and people have loaded linux on it and used it with a keyboard and mouse and stuff to prove it. Its even in the shape of a motherboard, it was obvious from the start.

According to that article, "The ATI graphics chip had overheating issues, solder joints were prone to failure, and assembly and memory issues were widespread." Microsoft also added hard drives and wireless control ports to the console which made it have ventilation issues.
Wow that article also says that by the spring of 2006, Microsoft had over 500,000 defective units returned to them. It says that Microsoft has had to pay over $1 billion to take care of the problems. One thing Sony at least has, for some of their faults, is quality control. :D
Yeah, for all intents and purposes, the first Xbox was a glorified PC. As soon as they released the 360, Microsoft basically dropped support of the first Xbox. I mean I had a PC then, and I have one now. I get consoles because of the different games. At least they learned their lessons with the 360, just not with how to build their consoles hehe. Sony is still supporting the PS2, it's not surprising since I think it's selling better than the PS3 or the 360, even after almost 10 years being on the market.

The graphics chip is a hard thing to point the finger at, a ton of graphics cards get so freakin hot for instance, so its nothing unusual. I bet the ps3 is the same way.
I heard abut the soldering issues too, which is why that "blanket trick" works so well to fix it (remelts the solder).
The hard drive sitting on top blocking ventilation makes sense too, I've always wondered about that....

I know two people who's ps3 have broke soon after they bought it and had to send it back ( I know no one who got the rings.. although I saw it in a display at walmart once :D ) I'm not sure what my point is, I guess it's that all things break
And about sony still supporting the ps2... well I always assumed they were only going to support the ps2 until the ps3 picked up, and because it took a year longer than hoped for they're just going with the flow and supporting both. it's kinda weird actually. "Buy our ps3, it beats all other consoles and can play all the old games..... oh yeah, and we still have the weaker, crappier ps2 that's increasingly growing out of date... if ya want it...."

Oh yeah! The PS3 gets crazy hot if I watch movies from the hard drive or go online with it. Funnily enough, it's not really that hot when I play PS3 games. I was playing Civilization Revolution this afternoon and it didn't even get warm. It doesn't heat up at all for PS2 games. I'm pretty sure Sony is ending support of the PS2 in 2010. By then the PS3 sales should at least catch up or surpass the 360. It's outsold the 360 for most of this year I think, surprisingly.
I have horrible luck with electronics breaking, so I'm hoping this thing lasts. I got it as a gift though, so if it breaks I'm screwed. :D

Why, do you need the receipt to send it back to sony or something? I'd think the warranty would still apply no matter where you got it. I dont know that for sure, I'm just guessing
civilization revolution is pretty neat, I like how you can build nuclear weapons and then just wipe your enemies off the map. In fact, all of sid meier's games are pretty freakin good. Have you ever played Pirates? I played that game non stop for like a month. I literally took over the entire carribean, I ran out of towns to rob and made the spanish, english and dutch extinct.

Hmm you are right, I think it's a year warranty. It could be 90 day, but I'm pretty sure it's a year. I got it for Xmas '07, so knowing my luck it would break the day after Xmas this year hehe. Sony charges $150 to fix the PS3 after your warranty expires, which sucks!
CivRev is awesome, I agree! Yesterday I played as the Mongols and I totally lost the game horribly. I just kept attacking my neighbors trying to invade their capitals, but it didn't work. I usually win the game by Domination towards the end of the time limit. The easiest way to win I think is by a Technology victory. I played as the Chinese once and I was the first one out to launch a space station.
I've never played Pirates, but that is on my list to play. I've heard great things! I also want to play Rome: Total War, that sounds fun too. If only my PC wasn't so shitty. :(

Can you get CivRev for the 360 do you know? I'm a huge fan of Sid Meir's Civ games and basically anything turn based.

Oh yeah, the 360 has it. You guys with 360s are lucky, every game comes out for it. With the PS3 I have to think good thoughts for it to even be announced hehe.

PS3 is good for many reasons.
What I like is that they do not charge you a fee for their internet service. For Xbox live they charge $10/month and every now and then it breaks down and takes days to recover. Plus PS3 does not have problems like the RROD.
Do you play World of Warcraft?

Yeah I'm really happy with the PS3, it's probably the coolest console I've had since the Genesis. The multi-player and online store always work and I've never had problems with it. Free is best. :D
World of Warcraft? I'd like to, but I don't have much of a life as it is. :D But I've played the trial, it is really addicting. Maybe when I get a new PC I'll buy it.

I think this is the best thing the ps3 has going for it right now. One of my friends has both ps3 and xbox360 and he decides which console he buys a game for based on whether he wants to play it online or not :)

The graphics look pretty sweet, but I'm burnt out on FPS's. I think I'll wait for Call of Duty: World at War for a good WWII shooter. After that, it's Resistance 2, which looks awesome. This week I'm getting Lego Batman, it looks like a lot of fun!

I actually went to EB Games on my lunch break and reserved a copy (stuttered while do it ofcourse!) and it's supposed to be coming out Thursday or Friday, can't wait!.

Isn't it funny that everything we do involves stuttering? Even video games involve stuttering! :D
Yeah Resistance 2 is only for PS3, surprising really. But it's nice to have something exclusive hehe.

Yeah I know. All I wanted to say was "I would like to reserve Brothers in Arms for the 360". Anything I say involves moderate stuttering, even ordering coffee in a drivethru on the way to work. When I first got the comm unit for the 360 to talk with other players I would stutter tonnes, but I recently through it out.
Exclusivity it nice. Like how 360 only had BioShock and Gears of War and soon to be number 2!

Yeah I would never use a headset to play games. The people who play online are really immature and would tear me to pieces if I stuttered.

Plus you'll be dealing with screaming 12 year olds hahaha. I remember I was playing COD4 and these 12 year olds where calling other people on the team the N-word and anti-semetic slurs. They live at home with their parents obviously and I wonder if they hear this!?

Yeah! Just go on YouTube and watch all the videos of the 12 year old brats talking on XBL and PSN like they're gangsta or something. I mean, where are all the parents? Oh yeah, that's right. Instead of being parents, they just sit the kids in front of the TV, and expect the TV and videogames to teach them about respecting people.

Once I had a friend over whose Jewish and he heard some awful shit coming from the mouth of a 12 year old regarding jews and my friend was like "Where's your headset?" and I told him I threw it out and he was like "Shit!".
I can easily get pissed and start yelling at these kids if I had my headset and then my fiance would have that WTF look on her face! LOL

I see it in Supermarkets all the time. A guy would be on his bluetooth and he would be talking to his wife and he'll be saying "should I get some oranges?". If you didn't see the bluetooth than you would think he's talking to himself LOL
