Has anyone here tried homeopathy to help with their stammer.

I know it will not "cure" the stammer as the problem is to do with the excess dopamine in the brain etc, however it may well be possible to reduce the stress/anxiety/tension etc and reduce fear in given situations when stammering is worse.

I want to know if anyone has been to see a homeopathy expert and been given a 'remedy' specific to them as opposed to getting an off-the-shelf remedy from a shop.

Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine. I tend to be quite wary of choosing alternative medicine because insufficient research has been performed regarding these treatments. I mean the treatment could potentially work but do spend time on finding out the side effects before pursuing these type of treatments because it may harm you or the benefits may be due to merely placebo effect.

I tried some form of homeopathic treatment a few years ago. I didn't find they worked but I believe I was over thinking it and was waaay to focused on my talking when I was taking the treatment - hence an increase in my stuttering. I do believe my increase in stuttering was due to what was going on in my head. I'm all for researching options and trying things you feel comfortable with. Informed decisions is the way to go.
