Welcome to the forum. We can all relate to the negative experiences when it comes to the problems stuttering can bring on a regular basis. Have a browse through the stuttering section of the forum and you will probably find a number of threads on the topic of peoples experiences on therapy/courses, devices and drugs ed at helping stuttering. Failing that many of the members here offer good advice and support when it comes to generally coping with your stutter.

Get the book "Self-therapy for the stutterer" by Malcolm Fraser. This is possibly the most useful advice another stutterer could give to you and my stutter was really bad. I stuttered severly as a teenager, but the book really helped me out. It's a book that you have to work through step by step and maybe even twice. But it's worth the effort once you see the progress.
I know exactly how you feel. Not being able to order, asking stuff or just making small talk were quite difficult for me. Today I am still a stutterer, but in certain situations I'm more fluent than in the years before and my stutter isn't a severe one anymore.
I hope this will help you out.
