Hi

I've just joined and am a former stutterer (20+ years stuttering) who recovered fluency almost by accident. I'm willing to share this method with anyone who wants to try it and am also thinking of setting up workshops in my home town at some point.

I'm very happy to come here and discuss any issue related to stuttering and look forward to meeting you all here.

All the best

Violinia

Hi there,

Just noticed your message, and am interested in how you became fluent by accident? I have been stammering for about 5 yrs, it came quite by surprise and I am looking for some help?
The phone is my only problem, but it has started to creep in to normal talk as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Anna

I haven't posted on this forum for a long time because helping stutterers was making my stutter return. I am OK again now. Try this site: http://www.valsalva.org/ I think they have the answer; what they do is very similar to what I did (relax the valsava mechamsim) and they do completely understand the cause of stuttering. Good luck!

Hi Violinia, I notice the date on your post and you have been an member since 2004. please to meet you. I find that my stutter improves when I'm helping others, interesting that yours comes back. Thanks for the info and I do hope to see you again on the forum.

Peace,
