Oops I was in a hurry posting this lol. I am a lecturer in multimedia at the University of Ballarat (Victoria, Australia). I have gone through both the smooth speech and McGuire programs. I also produce short films.

Welcome on the one and only international stuttering discussion board, Grant.
You will quickly notice there are so many Australians in here that you can't even count them. I suppose their presence keeps off all the New Zealanders. :D

Be careful with that term, John Woo. I learned that this is an insult for many Australian people. If you call them "Aussie" it means something like they are white supremacists who hate Aborigines (basically something with racism).

Count I have never heard that before lol. Just don't call me a New Zealander (Kiwi). You can call me SKIP if you wish lol
There's also a lot of Canadians too.

My sister lived in Australia for about 18 months, in Sydney mainly. She said that Australians are very cool to hang around with and they like only two activities: Drinking and playing sports. Is that true? lol

Well as a culture yes we drink and play a lot of sports. In a sporting sense we are very successful even though we have a small population - 20,000,000ish.
We annoy Canadians by calling them Americans.

Yeah, I heard Australians dominate in cricket and you do well at the Olympics too.

Your asking for a fight if you do that hahah, just kidding.

We are slipping a little in cricket now, but still no.1. At the Olympics we are normally around top 5.

This is bad news for me. I like sports as well, but the drinking part is what bothers me. lol Next summer I will go to Australia for a month or so, to a city like Sydney or Melbourne. I'm not much of a drinker, though. Better said I don't drink. Not because I don't want to, but because my body can't stand alcohol. I think I have the same alcohol-immun gene like Asians have. I hope the people there won't consider me to be alien because of my alcohol abstinence. lol

Personally I am no longer much of a drinker either. But we love a BBQ and a good time lol
