Hello my name is Dustin, I'm 19 years old and have been stuttering for as long as I can remember. My father used to stutter as a child but he said he "Outgrew" it when he was around 13. How he outgrew it I have no idea...but he really did stutter and from what his family tells me it was really bad. Stuttering has affecting my life greatly, Theres almost nothing it doesnt actually. I'm not a severe stutter'er. The severity of my stutter depends on who I'm talking to and the enviroment I'm in. All these years of stuttering has sorta made my brain do a mental block when I get to a word I stutter on, most of the time instead of stuttering I just chocke up and can say that word. I still stutter though. I stutter the worst when I have to get up and speak about something or introduce myself. When I'm around people I know very well I can controll it I let some words slip and I pause alot when I talk but its not too bad, The easiest person for me to talk to is my GF I am more accurate talking to her than anyone else. I joined this help to get to know others that share the same problems I have and possibly find some way to controll my stuttering.

Hi Dustin welcome. I think I have the same stutter as you, I usually just choke up on a word rather then actually stutter, I guess that still is stuttering though.
