Hey all.
New member here, Kev from Leeds in the UK.
I'm originally from Liverpool but for my working life I've been living in Manchester and Leeds. I had a mild stammer as a child but a dog attack at the age of eight exacerbated my stammer. Ever since (I'm 33 now) I have struggled speaking in sentences though am usually ok answering with a few words, so my stammer probably isn't as bad as some.
For the last 10 years I have worked in the video game development industry, which I like a lot. My stammer hasn't really affected my career since my line of work fortunately involves being sat in front of a computer and of course I can use email if I have a point to make.
As much as I really enjoy my work, it's a different story for my personal life. I find myself making excuses to avoid social situations like going to the pub since from prior experience I know everyone will feel uncomfortable when I stammer, particularly myself of course, so I'll usually just speak when spoken to.
As for hobbies, I'm a fan of movies, music (particularly alternative rock from the 80s/90s) and a football (soccer) fan of Liverpool FC. Oh, and video games of course. :P
Anyway, hope to get to know some of you better. :)
