As the topics says.. what do you do during the days? I know that Elliot (AGOFCR?) works in the military and that Eeva studies. How about the rest of ya'll?
I study law during days and work at a closed mental institution during weekends. Pretty interesting job and pretty tough from time to time too (depends on the patients). I block very little at work, and in school I think im kind of a closet-stutter. I just chill and dont talk extremely much. Presentations always goes well though for some reason which im glad of.
Well, so what do you guys do?

I think I wanna work in court with criminal law. Probably a defence attorney or something like that.. But you never know, human rights and international law is interesting too. The only thing im pretty sure I will not do is buisness/contract law..

I've always thought cleaning the windows on skyscrapers would be a pretty cool job. Same with changing the light bulbs on top of radio/television towers. I think I saw that on a Coke commercial once LOL.
I guess I should have added the fact I'm attending school as well. Er.. not at the moment anyway, financial issues. I will be going back fall '09 though.

I am in my second year. I have no idea yet what I want to become yet. Contract and business law doesn't really interest me either. Social and civil law interest me the most.
So you are most interested in criminal law? You should have defended the owners of TPB, maybe they would have won then. :p

I agree with this. Do not put too much pressure on yourself to succeed straight out of high school. Its not worth it, you will only end up wearing yourself out mentally and emotionally. Not to mention you will rack up student loan debt for something you will in all likely-hood decide not to pursue.
I just turned 24, and I am just now figuring out what I want to do with my life. I kinda wish I would have told those who pushed me to "frikk off" and let me make my own decisions. Its whatever though, I'm in a better place now, even if my current position and wages aren't "impressive."
Seriously, em :D

I'm trying for a scholarship in Japan (wish me luck) but if that fails I really might consider going to Australia..haha. My proposed research topic is in real-time rendering.
I read your article and I'm impressed. I'm getting better but doing presentations/conferences/seminars/etc I still get a bit nervous because of the blocks that sometimes happens. My last one was in front of around 100 people and I was the last one! It was "painful".. lol
I'm a work from home software/website developer. Which I see as both a blessing and also at the same time something that doesn't help me and my stutter.
A blessing in the sense I get to see my family everyday and my little boy growing up, yet negatively it restricts my exposure to other people, reducing any 'practice' in speaking with people on a day to day basis. I definately think I've become more introvert since working from home. But as I said seeing all the little stages my boys going through makes up for it.

I graduated with a BFA in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics back in December. For 6 months I was working as an assistant designer at a small production studio in Chicago, but that company recently went out of business. I'm back on the hunt for something in the web/film/TV field.
I do 3D animation, and would love to one day work in California at one of the big animation studios like Pixar, Dreamworks, or Digital Domain.
I've been graduated and out in the real world now for close to 7 months, and so far my stutter has not been a major problem for me with me during interviews and on the job. Of course I am constantly nervous about it when preparing for interviews, but I tend to speak pretty fluently when I get to talk about my passion as a digital artist.
Fortunately most of what I do consists of me sitting behind a computer screen. I do have to collaborate with others, but I'm often too excited to worry about my stutter.

In addition to the used tires, I collect repair and sell vintage bikes,,mostly as a hobby but make a little money from it too.

"Bikes" as in bicycles or as in motorcycles? I picked up an old bicycle for $5 at a garage sale last month that has a skip-tooth chain on it. I think it might be pretty old. It needed a new back tire, but other than that it seems to work just fine.

I'm not really sure. It's got the "sweetheart" chainwheel, so I think it's a Schwinn. The seat is labeled "Skyway", but it may not be original. The frame looks to me like that of the Hornet, but it's missing so many of the old parts that it's hard to be sure. It's still a nice bike, a relic of the past that still works.

I work for a UK Bookmakers as an odds compiler for NFL and Darts. Not much talking involved, thank goodness. Just plenty of maths and watching sport.
I have worked in language-related fields for most of my life - journalist, copywriter, author, translator, editor and proofreader. As the focus is on written rather than spoken language these fields have certainly helped me in minimising the negative effects of stuttering. On the downside, these jobs are not well-paid.
I have a legal training, but in retrospect my decision to study law was a bad choice for me. I know that some people who stutter do manage to practise law, but I found it impossible after graduating. Had I known as a teenager what I know now, I would definitely have chosen a profession not requiring sophisticated oral communication skills.

In the future i hope to work for a big company working in their IT dept. and hopefully gaining experience and making my way to the top.

I work as a professional artist/oil painter. I paint landscapes and portraits. It's a good job for my stuttering in many ways since I don;t have to put myself in situations that cause lots of anxiety etc, but having a job that makes you do those things can also be a blessing too. But I have had to market my own work which has been very hard but a growing experience too.

Really good to see a lot of people who stutter have good jobs - makes me feel crap about the job I've got haha I clean government offices 4hrs a night 5 times a week - the pay is pretty good, but nothing spesh - pays the bills and I get by.
I want to study, but I don't know what to do? I'm real paranoid about going back to class, meeting new people etc it used to be easy for me in high-school to make friends, but after high-school it got real bad with meeting people.

I'm in my last 5 months of high school and I can't wait till college. I'm enrolled in the drafting and design program at my school and if I get into the school I want to, I plan on studying architecture. I can't believe there are no architects here! That makes me nervous... But if architecture doesn't work out I want to study some type of biology. But after taking AP bio this year, I'm not so sure about that either lol.
As for a job, I'm unemployed. Mostly out of fear of communicating unfortunately. I've been trying to find a job that fits my stuttering but that's absolutely insane considering you have to speak to do anything these days and you can't be picky with jobs in our economical state. I'm deathly terrified of working in fast food and I'd much rather work at a restaurant as a host (you make more too). How has you guy's experience been working in the fast food industry?

I'm a volunteer firefighter/EMT but I also work for a private ambulance company. It's amazing that I ended up in this line of working considering for a long time I hated for anyone to hear me talk and now I make my living talking & making decisions for the better of someone else. I have my says when I am fluent, then I Have my days when I can't even say my name. I adopted a name for those days. It's kinda funny & sad at the same time. I hate talking on the med radio because everyone in the ER can hear the consults but I've never slighted my patients and have always given the best care of my ability. Because I was there people have lived. I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort bubble where I didnt have to talk to people (I was going to be a writer) because I would've never met the people I know & love today.
