Sorry for the stupid thread title, but I was trying to create some suspense and intrigue in you, but nevertheless I failed.

Anyways, I was just wondering, what kind of man/woman do you want in a relationship? What kind of man/woman do you want to marry? For me, it's always the girl that's different from all the others. A girl like that really intrigues me for some reason. Call me weird, but I just think that blind people are among the most beautiful people in the world.

So uniqueness is a big plus for me. How about you guys?

Blind people...? Like literally blind or figuratively blind?

What I looked for in a man was: Christian, caring, funny, easy to talk to...all the usual stuff I guess.

I go for guys who are sweet, funny, smart, kinda easygoing, down -to-earth, and someone who doesn't take themselves to seriously

I prefer the normal and slightly flawed. Like there are two women I work with; one is very neurotic and the other has a wandering eye. How I see them though is one is ultra intelligent and the other looks really cute in glasses. They both pack loads of substance in their personality and come off as truly genuine though. I'm attracted to both of them, haha. I'm considering kind of making a move on one of them soon. Not really like a move I guess, I'm just going to ask if she wants to hang out sometime. There is something about a woman who can make a flaw work for her. Aside from that, I stay away from princesses and any woman whose style is too reliant upon main stream pop culture. I can't relate to sheep, haha.

For the record, I don't consider either of them actually flawed. Most everyone has something they have to deal with it. Some of us don't have the choice of hiding our "flaws" though.

Well I think you already covered the most important part for me, which would be uniqueness. Someone who thinks for themselves and honestly uses there own intelligence over the influence of society to form there own thoughts and opinions couldn't he more attractive lol. Also, someone who's thoughtful and genuinely interested and inspired by the world. Someone who's easy going, unassuming, doesn't take themselves too seriously. Being compassionate and warm hearted unconditionally is very attractive too. I also find that for me, a girl being an artist is a huge plus in attractiveness for some reason lol.

It is easier to blindfold one than find a naturally blind one. Would you be able to time your speech better when the person can not see you? Usually talking on phone is more difficult. But perhaps talking to a blind folded person has a different effect. Some one must experiment this and report it.

Hmmm... I find it much easier to talk to someone face to face, when they can actually see me. What about the rest of you??

I think that the fact that they can't see your frustrations or struggles trying to say a word gives you a tad more confidence, but I think that they can kind of sense what's going on when you've suddenly stopped talking for like...ten seconds or more.

yeah. That's why I hate talking on the phone so much cause if you stop talking mid sentence or something their like " Are you still there?" It gets annoying.

Blind people are sure good with their ears. I have seen them quickly locating a walnut right after it falls from a tree. With my eyes I could not compete. Part of our company is located inside a factory that employs blind people for assembly work. I notice that they are quite considerate and nice. Sort of not domineering at all, although they have pride and wear nice clothes. It is hard to dominate people when you do not see them.
Having someone blindfolded and talking to him is quite different than talking to someone on phone. It will be a good experience to see how it work with our stuttering. I must be different from person to person. I feel best and most fluent when I am not dominated and also I am not expected to dominate.

Face to face is easier even if you stutter more. The reason is that your face shows that you are stuttering and expectations from you will be less. The facial movements says that you are trying to talk even if your are blocked. What bothers us in addition to our stuttering is that the listener expecting us to be what we are not, that is to speak without stuttering. We hate to surprise. If listener already knows we feel more free. The need for harmony with your world is what is called gut feelings. It is very hidden, but very strong.

I would want someone whom i can be friends with. I don't want a wife or a girlfriend. She should be my best buddy. She should complete me and make me do daring things that i wouldn't ever. She just should be what she wants to be at that moment.

mufaa, why don't you want a wife or a girlfriend? What you are describing...it sounds like it would turn into something more than just being friends. :)

I totally agree with this. You have a great way of describing things :)

I actually tend to stutter more when I look at someone. Its easier for me to look away or talk on the phone. I still stutter at times but not as bad if I have to look at someone in the eye. Also, if they hear what I said and ask me to repeat it, its so hard for me to get it back out and repeat myself. I tend to stutter alot more on the 2nd time around.

If I could close my eyes and talk, Id be ok :)
