I just do it as a hobby and its pretty nice to try to capture those magical moments, where everything seems to be perfect and you forget about stuttering and all the stress of life.
I just started to do a gallery with my photos.
In case anyone wants to see it in the links below:
Geneva and Surroundings: http://druk-code.com/index.html
Prague during free time after a conference: http://rtiago.web.cern.ch/rtiago/Prague/index.html
Post yours too if you have it.

Your pictures are very awesome haha. I've been very interested in getting into photography, I just bought a Canon XSI recently. I can't wait until I get a 300mm lens so I can actually take good pictures lol.

I don't do any photography myself but I took a look at your efforts and was impressed. I particularly like the Geneva ones.

Thanks guys.
chris2112, what kind of photography are you interested? I would love to have a 300mm too, but the good ones are way too expensive and my camera is not that good to make such a great investment. I have a nikon d40.

It all interests me, landscape to macro lol. I just need the money, photography is an expensive hobby lol. A 300mm seems like a good lens for general nature.

I do, but I haven't updated them in a long time so they don't really represent me.

Yep, I really enjoy it. I haven't had much time lately to get out there due to Uni. Its holidays now and if tomorrow is a nice day I will venture into the city with my Pentax film camera and snap some photos!
I have many Pentax film body's and an istDL for digital. The best thing about Pentax is they have kept the same K mount system(not including M42 however)
The following photos are a mix of digital and film. I love shooting film though, I have an unhealthy obsession with it. I shot 11 rolls of film while I was in New York for 9 days :o

I definitely found a new outlet for appreciating life lol. I've only been taking photos for a few months but its turned into one of my favorite past times ever. When I'm stressed or bored with life, escaping from everything and just being with nature really has a way of recharging my state of being haha.

Haha yep, the stars are an effect given by the aperture blades in the lens, you can tell I used a different lens for the Bridge and UNSW photos. There are 6 points for the stars in the bridge photo, which means the lens I used has 6 aperture blades.
;) You have seen these photos. You even asked me if you could paint one of them :p

Yeah I have nothing until Art and Drama, which is the day after.
I do Art, Drama, 4 Unit English, R.E 1 unit and Ancient history.
Art is so friggen easy. I swear to god.
How good does it feel to get that major out of the way though?

omgosh! tell me about it :D
you don't know how many all nighters i have pulled for art
i did painting, what did you do? (i was literally painting up untill i handed in it :p)
i do art, english adv, biology, 2 unit religion and maths
how did you find the incredibly random religion question?
colesmiles
11-01-2009, 02:20 PM
LOL! i get you with the all-nighters. I did watercolour pencil and painting.
Framing cost me a shit-load though. I was hard-pressed for time at the end.
andLOL@religion
I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out if it was a trick or not. I asked the supervisor, but she said, "It's open for interpretation."
So I wrote a little "Dear Marker," note and wrote about all three areas that I learnt, plus random stuff. Wrote about Christianity, so the day-to-day life of a catholic school and up-bringing helped me fluff it out a little.
I bloody loved the modules question though.
No specified speeches or poems, and three straight essays.
I almost cried during reading time.
Best thing ever.
You know people appealed for Paper2 due to "psychological stress" after the RE exam?

LOL! really? haha that is the funniest shit
i would have found paper 2 awesome, but i was sick during it and even though i was literally struggling to not fall asleep on the table they still made me do it
so in the end i only finished half the exam cause i like fell asleep (the fact that i fell asleep during one of the most epic hsc exams is an indication of how sick i was)
if they dont accept my appeal i'm actually screwed :(
you gotta love catholic schools
i go to a catholic school as well and because of this subject i now define myself as an agnostic. so much for making it compulsory to strengthen your faith haha
i did judaism cause it was the only one i prepared for for the essay, so i was stuck with it regardless of the question
that s with the cost :/
what was yours about?
mine was about an old depressed man. haha yeah don't ask, my teacher was like choose a concept ... NOW! :|
it turned out pretty good though :)
colesmiles
11-03-2009, 01:49 AM
s about being sick =[
My grandma was taken to hospital the night before Ancient History and I hadn't heard anything until after the exam. But I couldn't be bothered appealing because - to be honest, my in-class assessments although passes, weren't the best.
LOL Yeah, because of the catholic school I define myself as an atheist. Organised religion can do some crazy stuff. But it's still interesting to learn about I spose.
THE COST OH DEAR GODDDDDDD... to get my stuff framed. I did rather large bainbridge board frames and all together I think it cost me over 250 bucks.
Ridiculous.
Plus Drama, I did costume design and that cost me a load too.
90 bucks for those ones.
For art my concept wassss the apparently 'legal' poaching and killing of wolves. I did a bunch of wateroclour images with derwent pencils and stuff, ones of wolves as natural somewhat magical beings and others of post-human interference, savage and stuff. I also painted two large ones and sort of made the Aurora Borealis come out of their mouths, then I covered it in chicken wire.
I'll try and find a piccccccccc
http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww347/colewolf_23/09092009001.jpg
Tharrrrrrr.
I made the middle frames myself, but the rest is bainbridge, which cost a bucketload.

oh WOW
that is incredible!
heres a photo of mine:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t170/anthea_018/IMG_3282_jpg.jpg
its heaps big 48" X 120" all up.. i'm not sure what that is in cm :P and it was a to transport cause the bus wouldnt let me on with it as it was a "safety risk" :(
wow! drama as well! you must have been busy
how did you find your stutter with that?
oh and what made you want to do wolves?
i pretty much painted an old man because i am the most confident at painting people, and i thought that it would be so much more interesting to paint wrinkles then smooth skin :P
it was a to paint the wrinkles though  (i used a tripple zero brush to paint the majority of the paintings. you can't tell in the photo though, but when you look up real close it is like a TRILLION of little squiggly lines.
haha i think i am insane

I used to do black and white photography back in the day. I really enjoyed the developing and printing - it made me think about the days when photographers had to do all their own work. Of course, now they don't even sell the paper any more.

Haha thankyouuuuuuuuuuu
Violet, yours are amazing also, and I find it the opposite. People are sooo much harder to paint than animals.
Plus animals always end up looking cuter :)
Drama yeahhhh, I always do fine. Strangely enough, its sort of like singing. Unless it's improvisation work - I never stutter. I love the attention and everything. My stutter is only very mild these days anyway.
I wanna show you some of them up closeee, but I don't think I have any photos.
hmm.
I'll find some soon and get back to you.

I own some, and I use it.
The darkroom at school was epic. I've developed from my own negatives countless times.
It's great fun.
If you go to an art supply shop, they're sure to have some.

I can't believe I never seen this thread before... yes, I very much like my photography. Started many years ago with old film cameras, then, just due to things in life, fell away from it for a long, long time. I just 'got back into it' with digital a couple of years ago.
Maybe it's because it can be a relaxing, sometimes solitary pursuit....
