Hello!
My husband is a mild stutterer. However, I reaslise my husband's fluency is almost a 100% when we are quarreling  .
I would like to find out why.
Was some valves or whatever released such that he's able to speak so fluently and fast?
I was thinking if he can quarrel sooo well and fast, i strongly believes he can also speaks good when we are not in quarrels :) .
Any idea?

I agree.
I've stuttered since my infancy and possibly even beyond. I've quarreled with my mom when I was growing up and currently with my girlfriend and my fluency would shoot through the roof.
I think stuttering is a viscious circle of emotional and/or neurological conditions. Perhaps, when during an argument, the stutterer "escapes" from the "norm" by diminishing one or both of these conditions.
All I know is I don't choose to stutter, but it's with me more on certain days. Why? I didn't ask for it. The pronounciations just won't come out properly. Maybe I need more arguments at work... :)

Hello Sulligogs! It's funny you said that. :D
Maybe you and girlfriend and family can come out with an idea about a topic to discuss or debate (once a week or something) to help you improve your fluency? And even maybe something that makes you a little agitated...
I think your girlfriend and me are in the same boat... I bet she must be wondering... you are sooo fluent in quarrels! :)
Great to know you!

Thanks for the offer, but I think in my age of wisdom I've perhaps submitted to my condition because actually I am nowhere near as bad as what I was during my teens and early adulthood.
It's almost like my stutter and I have signed a treaty that he won't embarrass me so much if I just let go of myself infront of people every now and then.
As for our qurrels - it's not so much any act of fluency that she gets mad at. It's the notion that she thinks that I believe that I am always right - when I know I'm not. If you know what I mean....

Yes, i agree!
My family members will shout at me, in the middle of the argument, why the hell i speak so well! It beats me too! Lol!
Somehow, i think being angry makes someone shoot everything outta of their minds and mouth.
I wonder too. What makes us react this way and speaks so well during that moment.
