View Full Version : Stuttering and no auditory feedback as I speak

As the title says--- I have a very puzzling problem that could be stuttering related or not-and something
that possibly makes it more of a pain in the a**!!!

It is known that if a stutter speaks along with
someone else they don't stutter----also as we all know it is known as choral speech...

But what if the person (meaning me), stutterers,
but cannot HEAR their own voice as they are speaking to someone elseBut what if the person (meaning me), [I]stutterers,

Very hard to explain, but I am not able to hear what
I am saying as I speak it(if it makes sense to anyone)...and the same goes speaking to someone...
I am unable to hear my own speech as I speak it to someone else...

This also sounds messed up too, but
hearing our voice delayed helps STUTTERERS.. but
I HEAR EVERYTHING AROUND ME DELAYED--
EXCEPT FOR MY VOICE....

So I stutter nastily to someone--and it's weird because I can literally hear everything around me delayed, but the stuttering still occurs even when
I can hear everything around me delayed...

And I'm always having a strong urgency
for people to fill in my missing gaps(or the missing words-- that I can hear delayed-- but still stutter on)...

This is dreadly a nightmare and confusing -- and I know it will be to anyone who reads this....

The acoustic speech signal---when stutterers
hear that signal delayed --they don't stutter....
but I cannot hear a signal at all...

I also heard about real-time speech
amplification that a device called the DSA
provides to help a stutterer listen
to one's speech amplifed.. I'm also
wondering if the above device has anyhting to
do with the above situation I mentioned....

Perhaps I'm hearing a amplified delayed
speech signal????

Don't slam me for not making sense of this!!!
It's been 4 years since this has started- and have not been able to pin down this situation...

I literally have no patience--and the feeling of
fluency feels there because i can hear everything
around me delayed- but the speech just won't come
out as I would like it to..

I don't know if this is stuttering related-
but whatever it is it's been making my already
inconvenient sort of annoying stuttering unbearable...

I'm almost wondering if the above mentioned device called the DSA is the cause of it...it turned moderate
stuttering into extreme, extreme terror filled
stutterimg---.

Once again thank you for reading- i have no idea what's going on here...!!
