Hi Guys,
I am looking for job nowdays. So in near future I will be giving some interviews .. Can u guys let me give some tips of how to go with the interview ..

Should I let the interviewer know before the start of interview tht I stutter?

What you guys think is the best way to give interview ... face to face or telephonic .. Communicating on phone is the worst thing .. but then in "face to face" we have to tell name and tht too isn't anything pleasing

I will really appreciate if you guys can help and give some tips ..

Absolutely! I just landed a fantastic role by coming clean and letting the hiring Manager now I had a stutter. He viewed it as being honest and ethical. I actually landed the job and am over the moon about it. Read my other post about the whole process ;)

The worse thing you can do is pretend that the elephant in the room isn't there, and try to hide your stutter. Better to give them some warning about your condition, but also assure them that you CAN do the job and back that up with professional references if you can.

If you are lucky like me, you will come across a hiring Manager that can appreciate you for what you bring to the table, and not just view you as someone with a speech disorder and automatically rule you out without giving you a chance to prove yourself.

Good luck!

Let the interviewer know beforehand. I had a similar experience, which I already posted, but I will share again

When I was applying for my doctorate in clinical psychology, one of the requirements was a personal interview. Before the interview started, I told them that I was a stutterer. They were SO fascinated and inquired about my stuttering. They were really impressed that I had the fortitude to overcome my stutter and get so far, etc. I did get accepted into multiple programs. :D

However, realize that everyone reacts differently.

Yes, let them know. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to a prospective employer. Tell them you stutter, but DON'T make it like it's a horrible weakness. Tell them because you stutter, you tend to focus more on being a perfectionist in other areas and it drives you harder to do a better job ;)

Good luck!

The thing is before talking to actual client one have to talk to vendors etc... its difficult to convince them cos they have their commissions on every placement they do .. so they tends to fwd only those resumes which they feel r best in communication .. They don't know any tech stuff and it costs us an opportunity ..

Well i guess my stuttering is a little more controller than some people. So I usually dont mention my speech unless im having a problem saying something while talking to the employer. So i would say it depends on the job and level of your stuttering.
