I know this doesn't help my stuttering - but I live in Arizona and some of the Arby's Fast Food Restaurants are using a computerized touch screen that you order from rather than talking to an actual person.

For once in my life I was able to order what I want not only what I can say.

Just thought I'd share.

That's a great idea, I know it doesn't help if you are working on your stutter. I usually order by the numbers and take the tomota off, because I block big time trying to say no to Tomota, allergic to it. Don't know how long an computer will last up in the cold Canada. Almost great with the drive in bank machines.

My wife likes me to practice going through the drive -thrus to work on my speech.

I told her I'll practice going through the liquor store drive thrus in downtown Phoenix and pick up case after case of beer - :D

I was in Phoenix a few years back, took a smaller plane and flew over to white mountain, to visit the Apache sawmills.

My wife expects me to order for her everytime we go thru an drive thru. I am often in the drivers seat with other people and so far nobody has made a big deal about my stutter.

I hate ordering over the phone, its surprising difficult to say "a medium margerita with sweetcorn please"

And when some foreign twat who can just about speak english himself is saying,

"what sir, i can't hear you, can you speak up sir."

It just makes me want to go round there with a shotgun and kill the bugger.

But its all about perserverence isn't it ;)
