Hello. I have an 8-year old son who stutters - moderate to severe. We are on our 5th therapist, not looking for a cure, just following his cue. We are going to the conference in Baltimore in June and it will be the first time he's ever met someone else who stutters. I think we'll all have a wonderful time. Anyone else out there going?

Dori

Hi Dori,
My name is Bernie and I am also going to Baltimore in June. This will be my 10th NSA convention. I will be there with my wife, Harriet. I am the cochairman of one of the largest stuttering support groups in the NSA. I will brag a little here. Our group was the NSA chapter of the year in 2001, and I was named Chapter Leader of the year in 2002.
Your son is going to have a great time. Be prepared to learn so much about stuttering. The children that attend NSA conventions are amazing. They see that they are not alone in their battle with stuttering. You are going to meet a lot of great parents, teens, children, and adults who stutter. It should be a life changing event for you and your son.
Hope to meet you in Baltimore.

Bernie
