Hi everyone. My name is Rhett and I am 40 years old.
I've stuttered since I was 3. After reading the other posts in here, I can really relate to alot of you. While I don't consider my stutter severe compared to what I've seen from others, it is nevertheless discouraging. I seem to have blocks introducing myself to others, answering phones and other public speaking. Once I get past these blocks, I can usually speak fluent. I've thought about seeing a Speech Therapist in the past but it is always too expensive(even though I have medical insurance). Been thinking about seeing a Psych Dr to try Zyprexa. I've heard this helps somewhat with people whom stutter. I tried to enroll in the Pagoclone study but the interviewer said my stutter wasn't even noticeable(must've been a good day..lol). Anyway, I just wanted to say HI to everyone and to keep up the good fight. I like reading these posts.
