How many of you are familiar with the Meyers-Briggs Personality Typing? In a nutshell, there are supposedly 16 personality types that derived from the following classifications:
Energizing: Extrovert vs. Introvert
Attending: iNtuitive vs. Sensing
Deciding: Feeling vs. Thinking
Living: Judging vs. Perceptive
After taking the assessment three times in the past 20 years, I have discovered and repeatedly verified that I am an INFJ -- Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging.
Supposedly, only 25% of the population is classified as introverts. Additionally, approximately 1% of the population is labeled as stutterers. My question is this -- Is there a correlation between introverts and those of us who stutter? More specifically, do you think that there is a possibility that our embarassment from stuttering throughout our younger years have motivated at least some of us to change our neuro-processes from extroverted behavior to introverted?
