Hey Ive being stuttering basically all my life and I just wondered has anybody ever taken rescue remedy.I was looking through loads of websites about it and it looks helpful especially if you hafta do presentations etc...
so any1 try it ever and what is the best remedy?
There is no cure for stuttering. No magic bullet. The effects of devices wear off after a few months. People may tell you that you just need to try harder and you will get it. This may be true but, the question is what is the right effort. Stuttering does not simply deal with speech. It is psycological, neurological, and physological. No one type of therapy has a 100% success rate. Because a therapy does not have a 100% success rate does not mean the therapy is at fault. It could depend on a variety of factors such as lack of motivation and effort by the patient, or incompetance of the therapist.
Natural Medicine is no joke. See what Natures Sunshine Products (NSP) has. Just remember just because its natural does NOT mean it is safe. It could still have some side-effects. There is bound to be someone here who tried it.
Don't use words like : Any1, hafta, or loads. And use question marks when needed. This will improve your chances of getting a response and makes your post easier to read.

I tried it - it's more of a placebo affect if anything. And it tastes just like tequila! I have a bottle in my backpack but never use it -

Hello All,
I have been experiencing some remarkable results with Buspar, and the "air flow technique" by Martin F. Schwartz.
I still take Propranolol for migraines which works wonderfully. Buspar really calms me down which enables me to effectively use the Air flow technique.
At work I take all of the phone calls because I can use and perfect the technique. I can now say my name over the phone without blocking, in the past I would always force my name out, which would cause me to block. Now, I just keep the air flow going.
I would say I'm fluent approximately 85% of the time, I include all disfluencies which means I know when I blocked, but the person whom I'm speaking to has no idea I just blocked. So, in that sense I'm probaly 90% fluent.
I started the air flow technique on 01/20/06, so, it's only been 6 days. I special attention to technique, I also practice daily. At work as I approach various speaking situations. I'll say to myself, "Perfect technique", which means breath control and slowwww first word. This in turn slows down my rate of speech which in my case is essential for fluency.
I use to have a tough time saying "8", now, as long as the air is flowing I have no problems.
I was taught a similar technique 10 years ago. I acheived fluency very rapidly, I relapsed because I failed to practice and attend to technique. Now I know what happens if I don't practice. As the old saying goes "Practice makes perfect."
I'll keep ya posted,
