Hey guys,

New here. I've been a stutterer since birth. It has been quite mild up to this point (age 20), though as I'm trying to develop skills for the professional world, I'm growing more and more conscious of it. I'm a hereditary stutterer (my grandfather stutters constantly, my father less, and myself even less...my great grandfather must have been a disaster). None the less, I maintain a great social life and am quite happy, and have even been told by friends (none of which know I stutter) that I'm a fantastic speaker and quite convincing (on my good days, of course - the bad days require some pretty sketchy word substitution).

My question is this: do you stutter in your dreams? I've only recently began stuttering in my dreams and I'm pretty intrigued by this phenomenon. Naturally, I can't help but relate this to my growing self consciousness and worsening of my stutter. It's as if it's lately latched itself into my subconscious, and is here to stay. I'm extremely curious to know if this is widespread among stutterers. Let me know.

This is the second post I have read about dreams tonight. I am amazed by it as I have never stuttered in my dreams and it never occurred to me to wonder why. I also come from a family of people who stutter. My grandmother and first cousin grew out of it though - I often wonder why I haven't.
