Has anyone in this forum had their stutter affect thier relationships with other people in a negative way? I mean, for the longest time I felt angry and alienated from everyone because of my stutter, like I wasn't normal or something. Sometimes when I talk to people and stutter they give me this look. You know, the raised eyebrows, barely suppressed smirks, etc. It's only recently I've tried coming to terms with these feelings, but I still feel angry most of the time. I wish this problem would go away, but I know it's not going to happen anytime soon. Just wonder why I have to be different from everybody else.

away with the self pity

OK... i am not being harsh, i am being honest. Self pity is the worst thing you can do. You are not being punished, you are not cursed. You have a speech impediment.

On my scale of edupness thats the same as someone in a wheelchair. (Its affects you as much as you let it affect you.)

Now the world is full of people who smirk, who take the piss etc. The fact is they are s... (hmm i am swearing a lot in this post... sorry) You should ignore them. On the whole, the majority are good people.

Most don't care if you stutter, if your skin is blue or if you is smaller than 4 inches erect. The problem is that you don't notice this, you notice the people who treat you badly. You also see things that aren't there, you may think you are being treated badly when you actually aren't. Like being ultra self concious. Its a , we all experience it from time to time.

Just try to be strong, people who smirk aren't worth your time to be honest. Ignore them!

Anyway how bad is your stutter? And if you ever need someone to /moan/talk to add me to on jasonstanley86@gmail.com

EDIT: When it comes to relationships, i have 4 friends :/ I have my girlfriend, my bestmate and my 2 bestfriends. (twins)

During highschool i became a recluse and just lost the ability to make friends easily. At times it makes me sad but overal i think i am ok. I think the killer is that if i was fluent i probably wouldn't be having this problem.
