Since we're not stuttering while whispering, why don't we just use whispering all the time?
I've noticed that no matter how stressful I am, I never stutter when I'm whispering
If only there was a way to enhance the sound of the whisper by a machine or something else...

Marilyn Monroe actually spoke with such a breathy voice to overcome a stutter. I guess you could completely change your speaking style to overcome it, but it would probably get annoying because it's not natural to you. I have a cluttering problem and I'm completely fluent when I'm imitating someone else. It would probably get annoying imitating people every time I speak just to sound fluent though.
Well, I have to say that maybe after some days of only whispering, your stuttering would come back again, and be the same as you had been speaking normally... That's my idea. Just like when some people who stutter change their names because the former one was too difficult for them, they begin to stutter pronouncing the new one. I wonder how this could happen. And I even stutter when I whisper sometimes...:P

Many stutterers stutter when whispering
When you whisper, you open your vocal cords slightly and they don't vibrate, so that phonation doesn't occur. The result is that the chances of locking your cords become smaller. That's why people usually don't stutter when they whisper. (Though it's not foolproof - under high tension the cords may still contract so that stuttering occurs.) Whispering is not a solution to stuttering, however. It's simply impractical as people can't hear you well enough when you whisper.
