hi everyone,i'm interested in buying a speecheasy device but the price is really high.i'm wondering if there might anyone here who is selling the device at a lower price .i really would love to have one cauz i'm looking for a job now and it's really hard going through interviews and getting refused bc of the stutter.so it would be way easier with the speecheasy.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy a second-hand Speecheasy, as these devices are individually shaped to fit into the user's ear. If you buy a used device, it may not fit nicely in your ear. Also many people find that the benefits of Speecheasy are temporary. This is a distraction device, it takes your mind off the anticipated or feared words. After a while, however, people tend to get used to the distraction of hearing your own voice talk in unison with yourself. But some individuals do benefit.

Stuttering qualifies as a disability under the ADA. If someone refuses to hire you based on your stuttering, you better contact a lawyer, especially if they tell you thats the reason

I have the device and I can sell it to you, problem is it will not fit in your ear because they do a mould of your ear before fitting the devise, i want to sell it because I don't use it anymore.

You don't live in UK, do you?
If you did, UK's Government could pay about the %80 of the cost if you go through the right channel...

If you go to the California Vocational Rehab, they will probably assist in the cost.

I've got a speecheasy device that would work for you. It's a comfort fit model so it fits everyone. Email me a justin.b.cortez@gmail.com if you're interested. I'll give you a good deal. I'm in california too btw.

Did you ever manage to get to try it out? I bought a SpeechEasy Comfort Fit model about a year ago. It's been very helpful, even allowing me to hold down a part-time job in a call center as a sales representative (I did very well). Due to present financial strain, I am regrettably having to sell it. I originally paid $4,700 for the device, but I'll accept as little as $2,200 for it--$2,500 less than retail.
Are you by any chance still interested in purchasing one--or do you know anyone who'd be interested? I've listed it on eBay three times already, but I haven't had any luck (apparently few stutterers use eBay...LOL).
I welcome any questions you may have about my experience with the SpeechEasy. Mine's a Comfort Fit, so it will fit anyone.
