I will keep everybody posted. I'm not going there to cure my stuttering, as there is no cure. Rather, I'm getting it done to hopefully eliminate my fear to speak, which will in effect ease my stuttering? Has anybody else tried hypnosis?

I tried it many years ago but it didn't help me. Let us know how it works out for you though.

I've tried it twice with two different hypnotherapysts and it didn't improve my fluency nor did it affect my fear...

Maybe you're tackling this the wrong way? Speaking fears are the RESULT of stuttering; the stuttering FEEDS the fears. So it's difficult to eliminate the fears if you continue to stutter severely. Maybe consider trying fluency shaping techniques to directly address the stuttering?

I did it only once for a few reasons. First, it brought up memories a d feelings that I should simply stay hidden and burried. For a few days after, I was a little depressed. Second, I didn't Luke the feeling of being put under a trance because my body went numb for a minute or so and I thought my breathing rate was very slow. Third, it cost me a $160 the first session.
I kept hearing the guy's voice in my head for 4-5 days after!
My stutter didn't really improve, but I wasn't expecting much after the first session anyway
