Hai, can anyone tell me how to use the "coastal breathing" technique to initiate and speak up a word? Also tell me what technique is "assertive first sound"?:)

It's hard to teach costal breathing via a forum, but essentially it's a quick (sharp) and deep breath immediately after which you speak. The assertive first sound is designed to help you overcome the fear of stuttering. You should try and expel all the air from your lungs before taking the breath and then releasing your air and taking another costal breath every five words or so. It can be artificial at the beginning, but it becomes easier.
Dave McGuire has written a book - 'Beyond Stuttering' - on the subject.
