Let's see!!!!

Date, Talk to Girls, take up Drama Club,
use the phone constantly, order out, raise
my hand, take a high paying speaking job, go to
bars, play sports, everything I wish I could
do I would do, flirt with a hooters girl, call
a radio station to win a contest, go to
concerts, take a trip..list is indefinate, joke,
debate, act, be the center of attention,
meet new people, talk to strangers..go to
a strip bar with some Pheromone calogne
on me, although that's going too far!!
Talk for hours to hooters girls, we all would!!--

List is infinite!!!!

We feel so limited cause of the stutter thing,
but if it's greatly reduced or gone, our world
of things we can do and want to do is limitless!!

Knowing the stutter thing allows us some or all
of these limitations fuels our anger!!

Better yet take acting classes- drama class!!
Acting rules- but the stuttering for me just not
allows me to pursue that dream!!

I want to blow up the part of the brain that causes it!!

I would be so relaxed. I would be set for life. I can do anything I wanted to. Go to any college, get any job, do anything. Talking to girls aren't a problem. I usually concentrate on my speech enough to where it isn't noticable, so that aspect of my life is good :D. But, I really want to be a dentist or doctor, but those require superb interpersonal skills, something I have problems with. I'll just go to UF or KU and become a pharmacist since my fluency is good enough for the momentary explanations of drugs and stuff. Imagine, stuttering as a doctor, "I don't know how to tell you this, you've got 20 minutes to l-l-l-l-l-l.......l-l-l." Then he dies in the middle of your stutter.

IM NOT MAD FOR TYPING IN CAPS- IT'S JUST FOR
EMPHASIS AT HOW GRAND IF I DID NOT STUTER!

IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN WINNING THE LOTTERY-
I MEAN THAT...

IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN BEING EXTREMELY RICH--

EVERYTHING THAT COMES ALONG YOUR WAY
WOULD SEEM SO CONQUERABLE AND SO LITTLE
IN COMPARISON TO STUTTERING--

FREEDOM OF STUTTERING WOULD MAKE YOU
FEEL "HIGH" FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE..

MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOUR INNER
SELF COULD BE RELEASED...

AND THE YEARS OF TORMENT THE STUTTERING
CAUSED WOULD BE GONE INSTANTLY...

Dude, why don't you pick just ONE of those things you listed you wish you could do, and GO CRAZY and TRY one! I bet you could do it... Then tick it off the list! Then maybe, try one more! I reckon you could clear that WHOLE list in a few years. The hardest one would be the first, but I reckon they would get easier and easier to do!

I dare you! :-)

Why dont you as uprighttouch says and pick one which doesnt need you to have much speech like playing sport. By playing a sport you will build up your confidence and get to know people without much initial interaction or go to a concert of a band you really enjoy and sing along, I dont stutter when I sing. I also dare you to try one and when you succeed you will feel on top of the world and nothing will be impossible.
I wish you loads of success in your 1st task and dont forget to let us know how you succeeded and how good you feel.

Hey Happy buddy, I dare you also. Pick one and not only try once, but a few times.

I don't know how much I would change when or if I become fluent. Let's, see, I can flirt with the ladies, in fact I was flirting with one on the phone yesterday. I would like to become an actor, I did fool a lot of people to think I didn't stutter and some family members tell me I have that traditonal native american look. I will think real hard about doing an Outback mountain movie. I know a few people that have been in those Kevin Coster's westerns. I really wanted to be a hockey player, but didn't have the talent on the ice, but I sure can keep the bench warm. I love team sports a lot more than individual sports, I guess because you are not in the spot light. I think the biggest change, is how I feel about myself. I can order out, go to resturants and order what I want and I don't care if I stutter or not. If I am having an stressful day, I can have the hooter girls move in closer and bend over and see the item I am looking at. I have been in heated debates and I have got my points across. I don't need to be fluent to work on my self-esteem.

Its unbelievable to say but I am one of the biggest flirts around and could do it for England, its not how you say things its what you say.
I feel I am missing out on these hooter girls, dont think we have anything like that over here, maybe someone could correct me if I am wrong.
My jobs involves dealing with the French head office and going to user meetings, if I have something to say which is worthwhile I will say it and hey I might stutter on one word, but they dont hear my stutter, they hear the point I am making.
If you do go into acting, let us know how you are doing, if you want it that bad, give it a go.
Hope you all stay happy.

I missed an meeting, and the woman called me up asking me where I was. I told her, I was sorry and she said it was okay. I said, I missed my chance to be with her and she laughted and answered back, yeah I had you down for the whole day. It is fun.

We have a hooters and it is always busy. They have one of the best wings and they serve dark ale. Don't spread this around, but somedays I stutter on purpose and when the lady sees this, so she moves forward to look at what I'm pointing at and we both look down at the m e m u. It is one of those great places to relax, other than spending quality times with the kids.

i agree, but some of those things you can still do like taking trips, going to concerts, playing sports..these require little speaking. the others i completely understand. i think we all would find ourselves in situations where we could fully express ourselves and those around us would benefit from what we had to say. i also would probably take a different job. we really limit ourselves when we eliminate tons of jobs because we want to minimize speaking but sometimes its a necessity. some jobs just aren't accessible to us.
