I exercise on a daily basis but I still stutter. I have read that regular exercise can help fight off depression but I don't know if it is supposed to have any effect on stuttering.

Exercise?? Has not helped ease up my stutter at all.....!!
As a way to cope with me not being able to speak I eat lot's of junk food--when we are angry or depressed we tend to eat junk food.
Well--this junk food eating resulting from anger and frusteration caused by extreme stuttering will end my life soon enough because I have diabetes caused by the excess sugar caused from eating unhealthily. Eating unhealthily is from being mad about the can't communicate thing.

Me. Sounds like you're not motivated enough. Once you get serious and quit being a slacker and start seeing some change you will develop a different mindset. Buy yourself a nice pair of running shoes, get yourself an IPOD and go run and think about all those a-holes who made you feel like crap back in school, use it as fuel and strive to put yourself in the best shape you can. Trust me it does wonders for your confidence...
for me its never been a problem, I take all my anger and memories of being made fun of and put it towards working out. Its like fuel for me.
You know what I realised, that the more I used to go out and party the worse my speech was. I am 32 now and try to live a healthy life, exercise a lot, altough I go out too. The more my energy is better the better I speak. That is a fact...
