Introduction eh, lol. Throughout my life as a kid and even up to now i try and avoid introductions as they are nightmares to me because i get nervous about stuttering about my name. I am a 20 year old College student here in Toronto and i have very minimal stuttering. Through elementary and high school i hid my stammer really well and even some of my closest friends don't know i stutter. I feel i could have done so much more with my life but because of my stammer it has limited me from asking questions, interviews, meeting new people all in fear of them asking my name or stammering on a hard word that i can't find a subsitute for.

For stutterers i know i have it easy. On a scale of 1 - 10 i would say i am a 3. However, my main problem is stuttering my name. Daniel. The D can never come out. At this point on a scale of 1 - 10 i am a 8 or 9. Sometimes i try to say my name in my own privacy as a test and i still struggle very hard to the point i just stop and i would have never said anything but "D". I can carry the longest conversation in the world and you wouldnt know i stutter, until a difficult 'D' or 'B' starting word comes up that i have no substitute for. And unfortunatley there is no substitute for my name. Daniel.

I have never talked to anyone about my stutter even my parents. I think they know i stutter sometimes but they or anyone else has no idea how greatly it affects my life.

I want to meet new people, i want to network, i want to introduce myself but because of my stutter it makes it very difficult or even impossible. 90% of the people today who know my name is because they learned it from someone else.

Most stutterers seem to struggle with their names so you are not alone there. Maybe you could try giving your middle name out instead of your first name. Welcome to the forum anyway.
