stutter aid?

I havent been keeping up with the times clearly... what is this? i have tried to search this forum for more info but im at a loss, i guess it helps your stammer but has anyone got any more info on this.... interested to know how this works..

Forgot what it was called, I think the fluency master, you put it in your ear and it delays the time the person talks. I never had it so I don't know what it would be like, it might help.

They work very well, but the effect wears off after a period of time.

I don't believe in stutter aids really, im sure they work, but you'd still stutter without it, so its not really helping you overcome your stammer, just keeps it at bay more like.

Im sure i read somewhere that keeping a marble in your mouth helps control stammering too :rolleyes:

A marble is definately risky!! I would easily choke
on it!!

I am looking for something that you
are describing in your post that does
not delay the sound of your voice for
you to hear it, but delays the time when
you talk!! You may have just helped me out tremendously!!

Feel free to ask me questions, it's an auditory feedback device and makes a considerable difference in my stuttering. I believe it works more with repititions than with blocks however.

well there's no chance of u stuttering while you'd be choking on the marble so i guess the marble kind of does help stittering lol.

I also have a speecheasy. It is broken all the time and it takes forever to get it fixed. Also, unless the ONLY thing you do is repeat sounds, you will not benefit. A lot of resellers are bit crooked and do things like talk slower and lie about the long term effects. Or not honor a 30 day trial.

There's mixed results, but generally I feel more comfortable with the speecheasy in. The most important thing it gives you is confidence. However, sometimes the speecheasy can be just as bad as regular speech.

It's very difficult to say in terms of switching back and forth, there are some good days, some bad ones, and for me that applies to normal speech as well. Also, if I'm stuttering without it and pop it in my speech usually improves.

What I do is if I'm speaking poorly one way (without or or with it) I'll try the opposite way and I personally keep my speecheasy very accessible so I can put it in at a moment's notice .

Have you tried the gold batteries? The silver ones aren't nearly as good.

i paid $200 just to try the speech easy. it was very annoying and did nothing for me. They cost $2000-$4000!!!!!!! I felt like the speech center was trying to sell me a device rather than help. DO NOT BUY ONE UNTIL YOU KNOW IT WILL WORK FOR YOU 100%

I have a device called speecheasy. It fits in my ear and it delays the sound and is a very high pitch voice. It helps me a lot especially during job interviews or when I have to make phone calls. THe device has helped me land the job I have had for two years.
