A HARMLESS pill can get you as drunk as alcohol — but with no hangover or health risks like liver disease.

Drugs Bretanezil and Pagoclone — developed for anxiety — affect the same part of the brain as drink.

Boozers could pop a few then take an antidote to sober them up later on to drive home.

They passed safety trials but were not put on sale, said drugs expert Prof David Nutt, of Bristol University.

Interesting Dave! I hope it doesn't make you feel drunk! In any case, my dream is that Pagaclone gets released for something or another. Even if the drug works on some people, it has to be a SIGNIFICANT amount for the FDA to approve it. So it may work for some of us, but still get shot down. Let's hope it gets released into the market for anything so at least we can try it!! :)

I believe someone here said that in the trial are taking an extremely small dosage. Maybe the effects of larger dosages are similar to alcohol.
