I cant figure it out. I talk to myself all the time. Mainly because I speak completely fluent. It is weird. Now I dont stutter as bad as I use to. As a matter of fact I may be out growing it. But its still there a little. I think my biggest problem is starting off. Its like when you first learn clutch. Its hard to start off but once you get going it isnt so bad.

So does anyone else have this issue of speaking fluent when talking to one's self? I have ruled out nervousness and was just wondering if this is a good sign or bad sign? Any suggestions?

I am the same way. If I'm talking to myself I never stutter. I've even made the point several times trying to say words that I can never say to people. It's kinds weird I agree. I don't understand it. I recently saw a marriage counsler and he seemed to think it would have to have something to do with anxiety, which can be treated with meds. But this counsler doesn't like giving medicine, so I'm looking for someone else.
I don't know if all stutterers are like this or not. But it sure seems like to me If I can talk alone with no problems that my speech isn't the problem, something else is. I did do some research on anxiety medicine for stuttering and their is medicine out their that is supposed to help.
