Hi all
I've moved my thread (introduce myself ) over here incase there'e need for it :)
Jan
was going on like this...
Sobie,
Please excuse my ignorance . . . but what is the Oscar Hausdorfer technique?
I do not know all these techniques/programs becasue I do not do speech therapy and am just now getting into the "investigative" mode. I never felt the need to delve into the stuttering issue until recently.
and..
It is a technique of a german man named Oscar Hausdörfer, who relieved himself from stuttering and wrote a book about it, quite a long time ago. Some of his issues are outdated, but the principle idea forms a base for stutter therapy. This technique is being used by several therapists in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. It is I believe simular to the 'speak easy' concept. You might find information on it on the internet (might be in german though)
Good luck !
and..
Thanks for the info and the quick reply.
and..
Now.. I've checked with my therapist and she said that this technique which I mentioned before is refered to as 'prolonged speech' in english. It turns up way more often on the search engines
And searching the forums on possiblilities of talking to other people I found a britisch site (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/stutteringchat/) and a german one (http://www.stotter.net.tc/) who seem to organise weekly voice/video chat conferences over the net. Any such things going on here at stutterforum ?? I'd like to know
Thanks
Jan
