Weird- I was eating out at my favorite restaurant
yesterday, and when I giving my order I was of
course stuttering--- the waitress did not mock me,
but she said as I was trying to "spit out" my order,
"hang on, I have another table, I'll get right back to you..", and she walked to another table to take another order as I was trying to spit my order out..
I'm not sure what to make of this-- there were
other customers of course-- not just me-- and
I was having trouble spitting my order out--
and she left me hanging going to another table...
So I got up and just calmly walked out...
What should I have done???
Any thoughts if it ever happens in the
future!!!

If that happened to me, I would react depending on the waitress's facial expression and tone of voice.
If she was nice about it, I would probably brush it off and remain seated. However, she might not get a tip.
If she was condenscending or patronizing, then I would probably react with "I got a stuttering problem, got a problem with that?" After saying that, she would probably realize that she's not gonna get a tip, thus screwing over herself and coworkers.

Then . . . If she's hot . . . I'd ask for her for her phone number
haha nice!

I think that is plain and simple, Rude. At one point of my life, i would have walked out. Today, I would have stayed and told her, that was out right rude. I wouldn't leave a tip, unless she was sincere and said she was sorry.
I don't know the whole story, but my wife works as a waitress. 8 out of 10 people are rude in various degrees and I don't blame her for being a bit touchy. There is one thing I learned, people are not mind readers and how are they going to know if they did something wrong if you don't tell them.
A few people will never admit they didn't anything wrong and you have an idea how they think.

It was inconsiderate and rude. Someday she'll be old and frail and someone will push her out of the way on a sidewalk. I hope on that day, shes behaves with the same amount of decency you did.

Considering she had other customers, she
was very busy, and had to tend to them also--
maybe she thought I was holidng her up when I was
stuttering...

I guess it really depends on the tone ect in which see addressed the situation. But I've seen a growing tendancy these days for people to "not have time" for anyone but themselves.I fully understand this woman is here to get take the orders and move on as quick as possible, but jeezzzz!

She may have her reason and they are good ones for her, but It is still friggin rude. You are just as important as the next guy and a paying customer.

Indeed it is rude-- but what about a weeknight
or weekend night when it's very busy-- and one
is stuttering and just cant't get it out...wouldnt the
waitress get impatient knowing there are tons
of other customers to wait on, and move to
another table to not keep them waiting??
It's rude to walk away from a stutter while
he is ordering, but your under pressure not to
keep other customers waiting and you know you
need to get to them too--
These are confusing posts-- but I think it's good
to think about why or why not these people
are the way they are...

It does not matter, what time of the week it is, or the time of day or if you are at hooters after the football game. How does she know you are not the one to leave an $50 tip. It is plain and simple, inconsiderate and Rude.

Especialy if you want to order or buy something
worth alot of money- they better not be rude or
insensative because they will lose on a cash paying customer!!--
BTW, your post is direct and to the point--
