My name is Jon. I have been stuttering for 20 years. I have never gone to speech therapy for it. I have always tried to hide my stuttering from family and friend and have used word switching for years.


After High School and some College I joined the Army and spent six years as a Military Policeman. Now I work in the Law Enforcement field.

I finally want to do something about my stuttering. I am tired of living in fear and hiding it. I recently got some books from SFA and hopefully the wisdom in the books will help me.

I'm happy I found these forums. It will be nice knowing that I'm not the only one out there that stutters.

Thanks everybody. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one out there. I think this will be a load off of my chest.

AGOFCR, I don't know how I hide my stuttering in the Army. I guess all the beer helped and people just thought I was crazy :eek:


I think during BNCOC and Iraq, all that stress from hiding my stuttering put a toll head.
