Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone goes through the same thing I do. Every few months or so I'll go through this spell where I stutter frequently and on certain words. I feel that if I am trying to get something out and feel the other person isn't listening enough it will get worse. Then I get so nervous if the person is TOO focused on me. It's so bizarre, but this is the second or third time I've had these spells and inbetween them for a couple of months I'll be fine and my stuttering will weaken and not be as frequent.
happens to me.
at the moment things are ok.
had to make a phone call today and it went well
just a slight stutter

I like to call those stressful days. Last week, late, I had a hard time putting a complete sentence together. Getting started and when I do, then I couldn't say the next or third word, block and then finally towards the end, I am just exhausted from trying. I'm just glad they don't happen everyday anymore. I guess you are lucky in a way, that you have them once a month or so and after that brief spell, your more fluent. Almost like getting a cold, it happens and you feel crappy, but after a couple of days it goes away.

I am going through a bad spell at the moment. Its lasted about a week. I think its down to being stressed in work and being tired.
I am just getting on with it and hoping it gets better before I attend a user meeting next week in France.

Funny that this thread started, because I was thinking about this yesterday. I had a "bad day" on Tuesday this week and I really do not know why. I was not particularly tired, maybe I was a bit stressed at work, but a lot of the time when I have a "bad day" I do not know why.
I did go for a jog the following morning and that seemed to help, so maybe it is stress related, and today I was back to my normal speech - the odd brief stutter but generally okay and I was conducting meetings and presenting in meetings at work fine.
I find it extremely frustrating that I can go from being almost stuttering free one day/week to having problems the next :(

power of three. the moon affects u too? hey i just started a thread a few days ago about that. it is a bantu . i think that maybe the movement of the moon affects people the same way that it affects the sea. it may create a gravitational pull on body fluids creating a sort of temporary cerebral edema. thereby affecting brain function. my brother is a medical student and he tells me these type of things. i have "chronic perseverative syndrome" (CPS) which means that more often than not i barely communicate at all but when there is a full moon out i cannot talk at all. i seem to be in a permanent block that i cant control.
