A few friends and I have been pondering.
Other than Werewolves, vampires and Zombies, what other physical transformation can a human experience? Any lore and mythology.

In my cultural, they use to transform into bears and wolves, or in their vision quest, see through the eyes of their guardin animal. I like to be able to transform into a eagle, been around turkeys too long.

I've posted the same question on another forum. The results I got were interesting; even if you're not into
sci-fi/fantasy.
I got lots of stupid posts, mostly images. I'll just mention some briefly:
"One time I transformed into the Incredible Hulk, but it really tore up my back."
"Alcohol makes me irresistable to women"
Michael Jackson
Ann Coulter
John Basedow
Soilent Green.
I got references to comics/cartoons/tv:
Turboteen (Cartoon about a boy who could turn into a car. Lots of discussion about how he turned)
The Hulk - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk_%28comics%29
Spiderman - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiderman
The Borg (Star Trek) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Borg
Gou'ld (Stargate) -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa%27uld
Dr. Jekyll -> Mr. Hyde. (Lumping under TV cause I don't have a literary section here)
The next section was the most interesting. These people took it a bit more seriously and instead of
looking at the entertainment industry decided to look up folklore and mythology.
Mythology
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_revenant
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_fairies#Rusalka
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arachn%C3%A9
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Midas
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycanthropy (I know you already have Werewolves, but I think the source material is interesting)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_%28mythology%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkies
From Norse mythology...
Valkyries can turn into swans. Sometimes they take their swan apparel off and if some man should happen to steal a valkyr's feathers, she is his and is at his mercy.
Drawves, gods, and frost giants often turned into things. Loki turned into a salmon to hide from Odin and other gods when he killed Balder. He also turned into large bird and carried Idunn (who was in the form of acorns) to safety, from a giant who was also in the form of a bird.
The dwarf Otr, who was in the form of an otter, was killed by Loki and as a result of this Odin and Loki had to pay wereguild to Otr's father and brothers. There's more but I'm tired and probably got some names wrong here.
I just think it's interesting to see the range of replies.
Lastly this one image was different so I had to post it. http://j4cbo.com/imgslave/files/08/08e644bf519bf370871751736c7327e41c3e3c37.jpe

I agree and lets see what happens. I for one can float. hehehehehehe.
I would be really interested to see through other people eyes, but not walk in their shoes.
